On many range models, a thermostat is used to monitor the oven temperature. When the selected cooking temperature is reached, the thermostat will shut off the voltage to the bake or broil element on electric ranges, and the igniter on gas ranges. If the oven doesn’t heat, or the temperature is off by more than 40 degrees Fahrenheit when pre-heated, it’s likely the thermostat is defective. Repair Clinic carries genuine manufacturer thermostat components for all the top brands of gas and electric ranges and ovens, including GE, Frigidaire, Samsung, LG, and Whirlpool. Type the full model number of your range or oven into our website’s search bar, then select "Thermostat” from the part category filter followed by the appropriate part title filter to locate the specific thermostat component you need.
